Michaela Bourgeouis Licensed Veterinary Technician
Michaela joined CVC in the spring of 2021 after switching her career path from dental hygiene to follow her love for science, healthcare, and animals. She is our specialist for rear leg blood draws and wishes she could magically take away every pet’s fear and anxiety. At home, the “king of the castle” is Colt, her Golden Retriever soul dog who has a hilarious habit of stealing and hiding random household objects. She is also dog mom to Louise. Michaela is most importantly mom to Blaire and wife to Alex! Michaela is a night owl who believes Golden Retrievers “breathe sunshine and rainbows.” Her first pet was a black cat named Baby, and her dream destination is Hogwarts.
Michaela was born and raised in Houghton Lake, Michigan. She graduated from the Baker College Veterinary Technology Program and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician at CVC since. Michaela most likes working at CVC because of the focus on making the clinic experience as stress-free as possible for owners, patients, and the team itself. Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable as can be while at CVC is important, and she loves that the entire team strives for this for each and every pet. Michaela values being an advocate for animals and giving them the voice they don’t have. She works hard to provide care for your pets in the same way she would want her own pet to be treated and cared for. Michaela also strives to provide great client education so that their pets can live their best lives.
Dr Lucas says… Michaela is a golden retriever, and we don’t just say that because of her lovely blonde hair. Michaela loves to teach people how to be the best pet owners, and she’s great at making people smile. She also never turns down a task and so far is good at everything she’s tried! Michaela won’t allow her teammates to slack off on the job, and her primary goal as an LVT is to ensure her patients are as relaxed and comfortable as possible while they are in her care.
